Sony sues LG over patent infringement allegations

Another day, another lawsuit. This time it’s Japanese mega-electronics manufacturer, Sony vs. Korean giants – LG Electronics. The lawsuit, filed with the US International Trade Commission (ITC) states that LG is violating US trade rules by importing products that infringed Sony patents. The patents in question concern microphone devices in phones, caller ID technology and transmission power and relates to more than 10 phones including the Encore, LG Accolade, Neon, Quantum, and Rumor Touch. If Sony has their way, the ITV has the power to block these phones from being imported into the United States. LG Electronics has refused to comment on the case- I predict a monetary settlement, and LG will be back in business again. After all, these phones aren’t exactly what LG has been doing extremely successful with. What do you think?
