It looks like the NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor’s great benchmark results have been spreading around. The high-performance dual-core processor built for tablets and smartphones will be finding itself inside a multitude of mobile devices next year. Word on the street is, a number of companies (Acer, Asustek, Samsung and Toshiba) are developing tablets based on the Tegra 2 platform. With a number of Tegra 2 tablets already out in the market (Viewsonic G, eLocity A7, Advent Vega) and a lot more coming soon (Notion Ink Adam, Motorola “Stingray/Everest”), let’s hope NVIDIA won’t have any problems supplying processors to the manufacturers- nobody likes a shortage after all. Year 2011 is going to be the year of the tablet, and with NVIDIA powering a large number of devices, you can expect gaming to get a whole lot more popular on Android tablets.
