Good news over at RIM- apparently since the announcement of the PlayBook, the company has seen a 5% rise in its share prices. It looks like the acquisition of QNX Software Systems earlier this year is already paying off for RIM- before we even get to see the first QNX device on the market. What a bunch of optimistic investors! Hopefully this renewed interest in their company gives RIM the boost they need to pick themselves out of the slum they’ve been in. The new QNX operating system will launch next year, starting with RIM’s PlayBook, and will eventually replace the BlackBerry OS in future BlackBerry phones later. Are you looking forward to the PlayBook?
