Looks like Nokia has been speculated making phones with every other operating system but their own. First it was Windows Phone 7, and now according to some strange reports, Nokia is rumored to be launching some Android-based devices. According to a report from DigiTimes, Google is currently giving priority to smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung, LG, HTC and Nokia. It is uncertain whether this is an error in reporting, as Nokia has previously stated that they will never be putting Android on their phones – vehemently, in fact. But words are words, and people are known to make mistakes – so just because a company has mentioned they won’t be doing something, it doesn’t mean they can’t change their mind in the future. With the N900 already running Gingerbread pretty well, it doesn’t seem too hard for Nokia to bite the bullet and take the plunge into Android with their future phones as well. I guess we’ll just have to wait for leaks or an official statement before we get to the bottom of this one.
