NFC announces how to get an N-Mark

on

In order to get the N-Mark certification for a device, manufacturers have to ensure that they meet a set of specifications set by the NFC Forum. The NFC Forum has recently made these specifications public, at their certification program launch. Just in case you’re wondering what these specs are, the NFC Forum has released the documentation onto the internet. Since it is mostly technical mumbo jumbo, it generally boils down to this: in order for a device receive NFC certification – it should work with other NFC devices, past, present and future, consistently and without any modification. This means that a standard has been set, which is a good thing. A standard means it will be unified across the globe- so if you’re using your phone to pay for transactions here, you can expect it to work the same way in another part of the world. NFC is a technology which should see a greater worldwide adoption with the recent support built-in with Android 2.3. Not to mention the rumors about it appearing on the next-gen iPhone and the fact that it’s already embedded inside the Nokia C7.
