Motorola CEO discusses plans for 2011
Motorola’s CEO Sanjay Jha held a keynote at the Credit Suisse 2010 Technology Conference yesterday and leaked out quite a lot of details about their plans for next year. In the keynote, the CEO mentioned quite a number of interesting details. They will be releasing a 7 and 10 Android tablet in the near future, with different software to differentiate them for their different target markets. They have plans for dual-core devices (the Olympus being the first, perhaps?) in addition to 4G phones. Motorola also plans to spread their devices over multiple US carriers- I guess their high-end phones won’t be exclusive to Verizon anymore. MotoBlur is here to stay- Motorola thinks it’s been a huge success due to the millions of subscribers using it (when it’s installed on every Motorola Android phone, with no way to remove it besides Rooting, you can be sure it’s on millions of devices). The Verizon iPhone might be coming in Q1 2011 because he mentioned that there will be “Additional challenge potentially” in the first quarter of 2011. And lastly, he mentions that Q1 won’t be awesome, so this means that whatever they plan to unleash will only be in Q2. Let’s see what they can wow us with next year. Listen to the full keynote here.
