Motorola has just announced the purchase of Zecter, a start-up firm that specializes in cloud-based technologies and multimedia streaming solutions. Motorola mentioned that they will be using Zecter to further enhance MOTOBLUR, which is present in all of their Android smartphones. It looks like Motorola has plans to incorporate cloud services (like HTC Sense) into their Android devices. With this purchase, it sure seems like in the future, every Android phone will be able to back up and store their data on the cloud. Zecter’s streaming multimedia services would also give MOTOBLUR a one up over its competitors, as everybody likes entertainment and security at the same time. Current Zector ZumoCast and ZumoDrive customers will not be affected. Are any of you Motorola and Zector customers excited about this acquisition?
