Konami’s first 3D game will run on mobile phones
In a surprising announcement, one of Japan’s largest game developer/publishers, Konami, has announced that their first 3D game will be launched on mobile phones instead of the Nintendo 3DS. Their upcoming game, Mobile Powerful Pro Baseball 3D, will come preinstalled on all Sharp Galapagos 3D Android phones. With Sharp’s screens being the same as the ones used on the 3DS, we could say it’s Konami’s way to practice their 3D-game technology. With handphones overtaking regular handheld consoles in terms of popularity, it’s interesting to see that game developers take notice and change their focus on what sells more instead. Let’s hope console manufacturers take this as a sign to buck up and find a way to take console gaming to the next level. As proven with the Sharp Galapagos, 3D screens aren’t just going to be enough.
