Coretronic will be supplying LG Digital and Chimei Innolux with backlight units for the next generation iPad according to industry insiders, DigiTimes. If the reports are true, this means that the iPad 2 won’t be using AMOLED display technology, as backlight units are not required for AMOLED displays. The new iPad will probably have a screen similar to the current one and the iPhone 4. Now the only question left is, will the iPad 2 feature a Retina Display? So far, all we have are just rumors, speculations and deductions about the next iPad’s features. We’re still waiting for the day that Apple gives an official announcement concerning the successor to their popular iOS tablet.
