Android Honeycomb, the long-awaited update that will finally turn Android into a tablet-optimized operating system might be arriving sooner than you think. According to a news report by DigiTimes, they mentioned that MSI are planning to reveal their Tegra 2 Android tablets at CES 2011 and sell them “after Google releases Android 3.0 in March.” Take it with a pinch of salt, as we don’t know what version of Android Honeycomb will be, since there hasn’t been any official statement from Google, and there have been rumors of it being Android 2.4, and let’s not forget it was even called Android 3.5 quite a while ago. But if it’s true, it certainly ties in with previous rumors about Honeycomb dropping in February/March. Motorola has an Android tablet which runs on Honeycomb and will be officially announcing it at CES in January as well. If Honeycomb does land in March, current Android tablet owners have something to look forward to.
