GeoGroups is a geo-social service app that helps you, your family and friends interact via public or personal groups. Available as a free download on the app store, the functionality of the app can be expanded through in-app purchases. One of these functions called GeoAlerts, pushes notifications to your iPhone whenever a member of your group arrives or leaves any set location. It also notifies you of any red-light cameras (so you don’t go around breaking the law while in a vehicle). In a press release, the folks over at GeoGroups have announced that they will be giving away the GeoAlerts in-app purchase for free until Christmas (December 25). So if you’re a GeoGroups user and you haven’t gotten the in-app purchase, you should do so before the promotion is over.
