Have you ever wondered if you could use your phone’s camera for more than just taking photographs or videos? The answer is yes. The folks over at Dev47 have come up with an app that allows you to turn your Android phone into a webcam. All you have to do is run the app on your phone to connect it to a desktop client, set it up with your instant messenger or video recording software, and viola! You have an Android phone webcam. The best part of this program is that it makes use of your WiFi connection, so you end up with a wireless webcam. No messy cable problems and you have the freedom of moving the camera around your house (in the event you’re trying to show the person you’re chatting with another part of your house). It’s free and but it only works with Windows and Linux at the moment. Download DroidCam from the Android Market, and head here to download the PC client. Let us know how it works out for you.
