CheveronWP7 release custom ringtone manager for unlocked Windows Phone 7 devices

For those of you who had plans to unlock your Windows Phone 7 device with CheveronWP7, it must have been disheartening to hear the news that the program has been pulled offline and won’t work anymore. Well for those of you who’ve already unlocked your phone (or have the WP7 SDK), good news- homebrew software has started appearing. The first of which is the custom ringtone manager from the team behind ChevronWP7 themselves. Since WP7 doesn’t come with a way for you to change its ringing tones to any tone you want, this program will allow you to do just that. Here’s the catch though: the ringtones have to be in WMA format at 48KHz, so you’ll need to do some transcoding before you can use them on your phone. For those of you who don’t have an unlocked phone, you’ll just have to wait patiently until Microsoft decides to provide this function in an OS update.
