Samsung has just announced that they plan to hit the 5 million bada phones sold and 50 million bada app downloads by the end of the year. A significant milestone, considering how they haven’t been exactly pushing it- there aren’t even any bada phones available in America yet. Besides the recent 1-year anniversary of the operating system and Global Developer Challenge and a couple of bada phone launches throughout the year, it doesn’t look like they want bada to dominate the world- especially since they’ve been creating Windows Phone 7 and Android phones as well. Let’s not forget, their Android phones have been selling like hotcakes (i.e. Galaxy S) and that they’re also the manufacturers behind the flagship Android phone (Google Nexus S) that will hit the shelves next week. Does Samsung really need another operating system in its phone line up? Besides being able to have a proprietary operating system on the phones they manufacture, what other benefits does it bring? At this point in time, it seems a little redundant to me. Sound off your thoughts in the comments.
