Wopad- an impressive Android tablet on a budget
Today we have another interesting device hailing from the land of China. If the public’s perception of a cheap tablet means low quality, the Wopad Android should change some minds. Coming in at $150, this tablet might not cost a lot, but it can do a lot. The first thing about the tablet that makes it stand out from the previous generation of China-made tablets is its capacitive touchscreen. No more fiddling with styluses or using your nails to tap on buttons- the capacitive touchscreen on the Wopad also supports multi-touch input for your navigation and data-entry purposes. The display will also allow you to watch HD movies due to its Rockchip RK2818 CPU that is clocked at 600MHz with 3D acceleration, though a little shy on the RAM with only 256MB, you also get 4GB of internal storage that is expandable with an additional memory card, and HDMI output. The only drawback to this tablet is that it runs on Android 2.1 instead of 2.2 which has been available for some time now. But with a low price, low weight, and big screen, this tablet is something worth considering if you’re looking for a tablet that won’t blow a hole in your wallet. Other tablet manufacturers have got a new competitor if tablets of this quality ever make it out to the rest of the world. What do you think about the current state of tablets?
