Twitter has just released and updated version of the official Twitter client for Android. The app which wasn’t as fleshed out as its counterparts on other operating systems has finally been updated to match them, bringing a more unified Twitter experience across the different platforms. Updates to the Android Twitter include: a redesigned Tweet details page, speed optimization, new features such as pull to refresh, swipe to reveal, quote a tweet, and hi-res avatar photos. The app is available for free now on the Android Market, but only for devices with Android 2.1 and above. So if you’re stuck on Android 1.6 or earlier, it’s time to upgrade or look for another Twitter client. And let’s not forget, there’s always the mobile Twitter website for you to use with your browser. Who here prefers the official Twitter over third party apps?
