The next iPhone might have an FM radio

Apple recently got two new patents cleared- one for the ambient light sensor and another one for a technology that allows you to share your iPhone’s favorite radio stations with your in-vehicle radio buttons. Wait a minute, favorite radio stations on your iPhone? But the iPhone doesn’t even have radio capabilities yet. Either the technology is in your iPhone but unharnessed at the moment, or Apple has plans to include radio functions in the next iPhone. As you all know, phones have been having FM radio capabilities for years now. But like how Apple does things (MMS and video calling only appeared on the iPhone a few years after it first arrived on other phones), an FM radio this late in their product cycle sounds very plausible. Either way, it sure sounds like the iPhone is slowly becoming the phone that it should have been a long time ago. Let’s hope the next version won’t suffer from the same antenna and sensor proximity problems. What technology do you expect the iPhone to get next?
