Speculated features of Gingerbread
As the launch of Gingerbread seems right around the corner, everybody is holding their breath in anticipation to see what Google has in store for us. Android Central has written an interesting article about what we might see in the next version of the Android operating system. Apparently, back in May at the Google I/O, Vic Gundotra held a presentation about the upcoming features of Android. Some have come into fruition through FroYo, the Market, and some features are features we’re still waiting for. Here are the features that are speculated to arrive with the launch of Gingerbread: an updated and improved UI; the ability to browse the Android market from your PC, and install apps directly to your phone without connecting any wires or tethered connection; Google Music Store, a way to buy music and keep it in the cloud just like apps bought from the Market; and Streaming music, a native ability to stream DRM-free music right from your computer. If all these features and more make it to Gingerbread, it will definitely take it one notch above the competition. What are you hoping to see in the next version of Android?
