According to a press release by Verizon and Samsung, the Samsung Continuum will be available for purchase from their stores on November 11. The Continuum which was officially revealed yesterday, as the first Android phone to feature dual-screens. Part of Samsung’s Galaxy S series, the Continuum carries the same specs as the i9000 except for its 4″ SAMOLED screen which is split into a 3.4″ and a 1.8″ ticker screen. The ticker screen can be used to show updates such as RSS feeds, incoming texts, missed calls, and even widgets like the music player. This ticker screen can be turned on separately from the main screen, which allows you to save battery power as you don’t need the main screen turned on all the time when using the phone. The Samsung Continuum will set you back $199.99 with a 2-year plan on Verizon and will be on sale in their stores as well as online. The Bing integration and fact that it launches with Android 2.1, and it is a Galaxy S phone with a smaller screen could be a deal breaker for some people, though the nifty little ticker screen might make up for it. What do you think of the ticker on the Samsung Continuum?
