Photofast AP1000 lets you stream music in your car using AirPlay

With the iOS 4.2 released just a couple of days ago; manufacturers haven’t wasted anytime in rolling out new products to take advantage of AirPlay that comes with the iOS update. The AP1000 from Japan’s PhotoFast is a device which you wire into your car audio system so that it can receive streaming audio over AirPlay. The AP1000 connects with your iOS device through WiFi- all you have to do is select the AP1000 on your iOS device- it should appear in the AirPlay connection screen, and you can start streaming your audio in your car. It’s a great feature to have if you want to avoid the hassle of connecting auxiliary cables, though I sense that it will be replaced once car audio systems start having built in AirPlay compatibility. PhotoFast is still looking for a distributor out of Japan for the AP1000, so there’s no telling when it will arrive on our shores or how much it will cost.
