PARC to submit Content-Centric-Networking code to Android

Published

The Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) will be submitting some of its code for content-centric networking (CCN) to Android. The submission of their CCN code can help with furthering the next generation of Android operating systems, by making content delivery more efficient. CCN is a technology developed by PARC to make content delivery faster and less resources by removing all the unnecessary steps normally required to access data. The idea behind it is that content should be located by their names, and not their location- if you want something, call for it, not where it is. PARC have already been working together with Samsung on next-gen content distribution, and mobile platform technology. With PARC aiding Android, CNN could be a major boost for the operating system over its competitors. We’ll just have to wait and see how it is implemented in the future.
