Good news for Symbian developers- if you were wondering whether there is an audience for your app on the Ovi Store- there is. According to the latest press release from Nokia, their Ovi Store has hit the 3 million downloads a day milestone. With 400,000 new developers in the last 12 months alone and 92 developers who crossed the 1 million downloads mark, the Ovi Store has been steadily gaining momentum in the app store business. But Nokia shouldn’t stop to celebrate yet; the Ovi Store still pales in comparison to Apple’s App Store with 17 million+ downloads a day. With over 1.5 million downloads of their Qt development toolkit, things do look bright for Nokia though. Do you think the Ovi Store will catch up with Apple’s App Store one day?
