Nokia and Telefonica have presented the world’s first sustainable mobile phone offer on the commercial market, featuring two of the “greenest” handsets currently available the Nokia N8 and Nokia C7. Nokia and Telefonica plan to offer these phones as part of a go green campaign to make the world a better place. The phones will feature ecological apps, less packaging, a high-efficiency phone charger and a final recycling offer. The Nokia N8 and C7 have been specially adapted for this purpose- they now feature an energy-saving mode, a power-efficient AMOLED screen, and an ambient light sensor. In addition to having green phones, Telefonica shops will have “green corners” where people can find out more about similar offers for other phone models. The first country to run this project will be Spain followed closely by other places where Telefonica is present i.e. UK, Germany, Argentina, Peru and Chile. With these two companies pushing the go green campaign with this first of its kind offer, expect other companies to follow suit. Are you all about saving the environment?
