“Massive” Windows Phone 7 update rumored to arrive early 2011

According to a developer who claims that he has inside knowledge about Windows Phone 7’s update slated for early 2011, it will be “massive”. An update so huge, “they could have called it Windows Phone 8” and it’s something “MS took 3 months to do what Apple did in 3 years.” It sure does sound like somebody’s head is stuck in the clouds, but we’ll reserve our judgment until the update is released. If Microsoft does deliver the update as promised, it could be a huge boost for the operating system that has been reported to have lackluster sales for its initial month, and for the benefit of Microsoft, let’s hope that turns out to be the case. The initial update is supposed to bring all the features that were missing from WP7’s release- copy and paste, Bing maps integration, 3rd party multi-tasking support, custom ringtone support, bug fixes and optimizations.
