LG Optimus 7 can also be used to tether
Great news to everyone looking forward to use their Windows Phone 7 to tether- it isn’t only available on Samsung phones. The idea to get tethering on the phone is the same- get the phone into test mode to enable tethering, but the method is different for each phone- so you can’t use the same steps to tether a Samsung phone on an LG or HTC phone. Well, some folks in France managed to tether their LG Optimus 7 and were kind enough to share the steps on the internet. If you’re interested in tethering your LG Optimus 7 phone, hit the break for the instructions. With the LG method figured out, it’ll only be a matter of time before methods for the other WP7 phones will be discovered. How many of you use your phone for tethering?
1. Unlock your LG Optimus 7 to access the program MFG (i.e. this is the passcode)
2. Download and install drivers for LG modem on your PC
3. Turn off the data connection (Settings / Network Mobile)
4. Start MFG and go to the menu “USB Switching” (Menu Engineer / Port Setting)
5. Select the “QC COMPOSITE” and validate (The phone restarts)
6. Connect it to the PC which is then automatically install the necessary drivers
7. Go into the modem settings “LGE CDMA USB Modem” then add an additional parameter in the string + CGDCONT = 1, “IP”, “orange”
8. Manually create a new connection using that modem as phone number * 99 # and it should work

LG Works On Nuclun 2 Chipset
LG has been rather quiet about developing its very own mobile chipset design for some time already, where the first Nuclun SoC will soon be followed up by – surprise, surprise, the Nuclun 2. This is not the first time that the Nuclun 2 name was brought up, and up till now, there has been no devices that were released with Nuclun 2 at its heart, although that might change with the upcoming V10 successor if rumors prove to be correct.
In other words, the LG V10’s successor will most probably be released some time in the second half of the coming year, which means it will be some time before it ends up as a shipping product. It also remains to be seen whether the Nuclun 3 will hit the streets in the near future, but as with most other cases, patience is definitely called for.

LG V10 Purchase Comes With 200GB MicroSD Card
So, you are thinking of upgrading your smartphone to a newer model that will be more suitable for your use, especially when it comes to storage? Well, why not take the LG V10 into consideration, as right now, LG is about to launch a new promotion that will see you be on the receiving end of a free 200GB microSD memory card, an additional 3,000mAh battery, and a battery charging cradle if you happen to bring home an LG V10 between October 30 and November 15 this year.
Of course, there are caveats to look out for. Eligibility is based on purchasing the LG V10 from a carrier, national retailer, or online dealer, and some of the qualifying retailers include the likes of AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Amazon, Best Buy, or a carrier-authorized retailer. After picking up the phone, you then have to submit details such as contact information, the purchase location of the smartphone, a snapshot of the V10 box with its accompanying IMEI number, and an upload of a legible copy of the receipt. Online submissions will have to be received by November 30, while mail-in submissions have the leeway of being received by December 7, although it needs to be postmarked by November 30.

LG V10 Comes In Gold
Well, well, what do we have here? Apparently, the recently announced LG V10 smartphone that is obviously one of the high end handsets from the South Korean manufacturer has arrived in a new shade of gold as well – which will definitely give it a far more premium look that what it would normally come in.
This is made possible thanks to the Vietnam-based company that is known as Karalux, where this particular handset has made its way to their portfolio while sporting a gold plating on the outside. According to Karalux, the entire process will take anywhere from three all the way to four non-stop working hours to complete. As the entire shell of the LG V10 happens to be made out of stainless steel, the gold-plating process is hence rather easy and quick – which is a good thing for those impatient magnates out there. The asking price for this process will be approximately $180 thereabouts – any takers?
