iOS 4.2 rumored to land today

According to some rumors online, iOS 4.2 will be released today. After countless delays and updates, the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch will finally be united for the first time with the same version of iOS. iOS 4.2 mostly brings features to the iPad that it didn’t get when it was left out of the iOS 4.1 launch. The update has been delayed mostly due to last minute discoveries of problems during the GM phase of the operating system (right before it is released to the public). With iOS 4.2, the iPad will be getting the use of folders, multi-tasking, and more, while all the iOS devices will get AirPlay, AirPrint, improved battery performances, and updated Safari browser, new parental controls, and new wallpaper settings in addition to other features and bug fixes. Update: According to a press release, Apple has confirmed that iOS 4.2 will be released today!
