HTC to launch their own app store

According to the Financial Times, HTC has announced that they have plans to put more focus on software for their phones. A couple of other sources have also mentioned that HTC is now hiring new staff to prepare for an app store they will be setting up in the future. They’ve already been working on software for awhile, in addition to creating phones. The Taiwanese phone manufacturer has developed software such as the Sense UI on Android phones, the HTCSense.com cloud service, and even a number of Windows Phone 7 apps. With their HTC Hub that recommends apps to their users, the idea of them having an app store wouldn’t be too far off. With operating systems having their own app stores, HTC will probably have to offer something more than the what the other stores are offering (like Verizon offering carrier billing through V Cast Apps).
