Google hits the 100,000 apps milestone

Google has just announced on Twitter that they have cleared a new milestone- they now have 100,000 apps on the Android Market. Though Apple is still in the lead with 300,000 apps on the iTunes App Store, Google seems to be closing the gap. Google could probably catch up even faster if they offered incentives for new developers and for people to port their apps from other platforms to Android. Though numbers don’t mean anything if the apps don’t do a thing for you- quality over quantity right? Congrats to Google for the achievement. Here’s to hoping for more quality apps on the Android platform! How many of you have used similar apps from both platforms before? And which one did you prefer?
