Looks like Apple has plans to compete against HTC Sense with the latest update to iOS. Users of the iPad, iPhone 4, and iPod touch 4G will be able to use Apple’s Find My iPhone service with today’s release of iOS 4.2. Find My iPhone allows users to locate their missing iOS devices in the event they get lost, stolen or just misplaced. Users can also make the phone play sounds, and display messages (i.e. a message offering a reward in the event the phone is found). If that doesn’t work, as a last resort, the iOS device can be locked or remotely wiped. Say goodbye to mobile thieves and lost phones. Previously limited to paying MobileMe users, it will now be available to everybody with an applicable iOS device. Have you updated your device to iOS 4.2 yet?
