Facebook App for Android and iPhone updated

After Facebook’s mobile event yesterday, they have launched an updated Facebook app for Android and iPhone. The new version brings Places and Groups to Android, and Groups for iPhone since they already had Places in the previous version. Now when you click on notifications in the Android app, it no longer kicks you out of the app onto the mobile website- a feature that was sorely lacking in the previous versions. This update makes the Facebook experience on Android and the iPhone much more similar, except that the iPhone version also gets support for just announced location based Deals offerings. The Android version might be lagging behind compaared to the iPhone, but at least they’re catching up now.
