According to an anonymous tipster who was at Dell’s private presentation recently, Dell has plans to release a second-generation Streak next year. Slated for a May 2011 release, it is currently called the Opus One, and will have a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It will also retain the 5” form of the Streak, but with an upgraded resolution of 1280 x 800. Besides those two tidbits, nothing else was leaked about the upcoming device. Now we know it’ll probably run Android, pack a camera capable of HD video recording, have Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS- just like almost all the other Android devices out now. The question is will the dual processor and better screen be enough to make the phone worthwhile during the middle of next year? 6 months from now is a long time and technology waits for no one. Let’s see if Dell can come up with something for us to shout about. Are you currently using the Dell Streak? What do you think of it compared to other smartphones available right now?
