Be careful of the $139.99 Sylvania Android 2.1 tablet- ads can be misleading
A Toys R Us ad was recently spotted advertising the Sylvania tablet for only $139.99. Sure that is a great deal for a 7” Android tablet, but is it really as good as it says? The advert claims that the tablet has Flash- but how can it run Flash on Android 2.1? Unless we’re talking about using Skyfire to load Flash videos- fine, maybe we can give them that. What about “Thousands of apps available!”? maybe if you plan to side load everything- the only Android tablet approved for the Market so far is Galaxy Tab running Android 2.2. “Next-gen tablet”? What does it have that we haven’t seen before? A dual-core processor? Highly unlikely. Either way, take this as a reminder the next time you see an ad for something that’s too good to be true. It’s all in the details.
