Apple recently rejected a magazine app from Danish publisher Mediaprovider- because it was a magazine mainly about Android. According to the report, Apple representative who contacted the publisher said, “It’s just about Android…. we can’t have that in our App Store.” Obviously Apple weren’t going to approve it, seeing how strict they are with their App Store rules, yet the Danish publisher still tried because he had another magazine available on the App Store that was approved without any trouble- iPhone Magasinet. The fact that Apple already has an Android magazine called Androidworld Reader on their App Store makes the rep’s statement a bit puzzling. Maybe one Android magazine is more than enough for Apple. I guess Mediaprovider will have to look for other ways to publish their Android magazine. On the Android Market, perhaps?
