Apple might bring a 17-year old boy to court for selling white iPhone 4 kits

A 17-year old college student named Fei Lam might be sued by Apple for selling white iPhone 4 cases online. Apparently, he managed to convince someone at Foxconn (the iPhone manufacturer) to get him the parts for the kits which he has been selling online for $295 a set. With the official white iPhone 4 yet to show up from Apple, his site has been reaping the benefits- boasting over 500 kits sold, that would put his profits at more than $130,000. With all the attention he’s gained on his website from the media (CNN Money, cnet, etc) Apple was bound to notice, and it looks like they have. It was reported that he received a threatening letter from a private eye who was investigating the case, claiming that his parts were either stolen or counterfeit. He doesn’t seem too worried though. With a recent price cut to the kits and no signs of slowing down, this commotion has only generated more buzz for the website. Time will tell if Apple will take any action against him. Are you still waiting for the official white iPhone 4 to be released?
