China Unicom To Announce 3G
China Unicom, which is currently the second largest China mobile carrier, is gearing up to release its first UMTS/3G network on May 17th. The 3G brand will supposedly be dubbed “Wo”, and will be announced in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, the three most populous cities in China. The service will come prepared with no less than 49 3G devices, including more than 40 phones from the likes of Nokia, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson, ZTE, Huawei, Sharp, Lenovo and various others.
