Palm Pre To Be Assembled By Chi Mei

Still having a hard time waiting for Palm’s Pre to hit retail stores? Well, news about who is assembling the devices has surfaced, just to whet your appetite. Apparently Taiwanese OEM Chi Mei Communication Systems will be assembling the device, and while it isn’t one of the largest out there, it does manufacture phones for Motorola. Word is that production could start as early as March 2009, which is this month. Hopefully this means that we’ll be getting our Palm Pre sooner rather than later, eh?
