G1 Controls Robot

Interested in robots, especially in the build-up to the upcoming Terminator flick? Well, folks over at Surveyor Robotics have introduced the SRV-1 Console, which is an open source Android app. The SRV-1 allows users to operate robots based on the company’s camera board and firmware. It will rely on the G1’s Wi-Fi capabilities to access a live video feed from the robot, after which users will be able to control the robot via the handset’s touchscreen and accelerometer. This app has already been demonstrated with several robots which include the SRV-1 Blackfin, the YARB Robotic Blimp and this home-made looking robot.
