Bell Cuts Jobs

It’s unhappy news that is becoming more and more popular as the global economic crises drags on, but word is out that Bell has dropped an additional 88 employees, who are clerical workers, located in Western Canada. The apparent reason behind the job cuts are due to outsourcing of said positions. The Administrative VP for Bell, Wendy Sol, has said: “Bell makes lots of noise about its Olympic commitments but it has been quiet about the devastating layoffs to its Western Canada operation and its business commitment to the West. Bell says it wants to compete nationally, not just in Ontario and Quebec, and then it hacks away at its dedicated workforce in Western Canada and sends jobs out of the country.”
