Motorola i365IS Is Intrinsically Safe

Sprint has announced the Motorola i365IS without much fanfare. The “IS” at the end of the device name indicates its “intrinsically safe” design. This phone has a battery and protection that reduces the chemical and electrical output to prevent either from sparking a fire in a dangerous environment where there might be flammable gas or similar substances. There is also an emergency group call mode, which can speak to the phone push-to-talk group, and sends out a tone to signal the urgent nature of the call. The phone also has GPS and Bluetooth thrown in for good measure. There isn’t any pricing or availability information just yet.
