An AT&T subscriber from Chicago was on a cruise with an AT&T wireless card, and decided to catch a football game via Slingbox. While he was on an unlimited data plan, he didn’t notice that the card was connected to another network and he was billed an international roaming rate, which amounted to a total of $28,067.31, which is a huge amount of money (not that you need us to tell you that). After quite a few calls to customer service, it was agreed that the charges would be lowered to $290.65, which should be a big relief to the person. This certainly serves as a reminder to us that we need to be mindful of the cost of roaming data, after all, you wouldn’t want a 28 grand cell phone data bill, right?
