Bell Overcharges By $500

Some people just think that big companies don’t mess up and quietly pay their bills every month without much fuss. It looks like Bell has made a mistake recently, one that many users will certainly notice. Word is that their new e-bill system accidentally overcharged 100,000 clients in Ontario and Quebec by $500, which is certainly quite a bit. An internal notice from Bell reads:

“As a result of a system error with the launch of the new e-bill, a message was sent in error to 100,000 One Bill eBill clients in Ontario and Quebec. The error message states that the client has an account balance owing of $500. This is an error message and does not impact the clients actual balance owing. Impacted clients have been sent an e-mail notifying them of the error and have been provided with the correct balance”
