Palm Explains Lack Of Card Slot On Pre

You might be still high on the cool features that the Palm Pre is offering, and might not have noticed that the device lacks a microSD card slot, which could be a deal-breaker for many. A response from Palm’s Product Manager, Matt Crowley, says that design was the highest goal on the Palm Pre project, and thus the decision was made not to include expandable storage on the Pre. While we certainly agree that the Pre is a pretty looking thing, but have we traded functionality for looks? After all, a microSD card expansion slot is pretty standard on most phones nowadays. Many will point out that the Pre’s 8GB internal memory is more than enough for most people, which is true, so at least we won’t be starved of storage space on the Pre.
