LG Dual-microphone Noise Reduction

LG has announced that it will be integrating a new noise reduction system into its future handsets. The system, DSE technology, will use 2 separate microphones, one to pick up the background noise, and the other to pick up the voice of the person using the phone, after which, the noise picked up by the background microphone will subtract that sound from the voice microphone, resulting in a clearer voice. It certainly sounds simple, though of course it’s probably a lot harder than it sounds. LG is expecting to unveil cell phones with this new DSE technology in the 2nd half of 2009.
