Apple Allows iPhone Web Browsers

Published

on

In a rather surprising move, Apple has allowed other web browser applications to be listed on its App Store, considering Apple’s stance with software that competes with what it already offers, this might actually feel like the sun coming up in the middle of the night. Some of the apps approved include the Edge Browser, which is free. Incognito is going for $1.99 and doesn’t leave any trail of your browsing habit. WebMate is going for $0.99 and has tabs, while Shaking Web makes sites easier by applying its own method. Will any of these programs challenge Safari? Apple probably doesn’t think so, if not it wouldn’t have allowed them to appear on the App Store. Will we have Opera on the iPhone sometime soon, though?
