AMD Sells Handheld Graphics Unit To Qualcomm

AMD certainly isn’t enjoying the current economic crisis, especially since it had to go through a recent round of layoffs. It has been trying to sell off its handheld graphics business all the way back since July, and fortunately for it, Qualcomm has agreed to pick it up for $65 million. The deal was announced today, and Qualcomm is planning on hiring some key design and development people from AMD. Hopefully this deal will be both beneficial for AMD and Qualcomm.
