Vodafone Snaps Up Wayfinder

You might not be familiar with Wayfinder, which is a Swedish company that offers GPS applications for mobile phones that run on Symbian, UIQ, Windows Mobile and other Operating Systems, but hopefully we should be hearing more of it in the near future. We say this because Vodafone has just announced its intention to buy the company and is offering $29.3 million for the shares of the company, an offer which Wayfinder’s Board of Directors has recommended the shareholders to accept. If this deal does go through, it might mean that we’ll get preinstalled Wayfinger applications in Vodafone devices in the future, that can only be a good thing.
