Verizon Wireless Unlocks GPS

In a rather unexpected move, Verizon Wireless has unlocked the GPS on the Blackberry 8330 Curve and 8130 Pearl, which you can accept as an (early) Christmas present. The folks over at Boy Genius have tested it out, and have confirmed that BlackBerry Maps picks up the internal GPS. This only seems to work on OS 4.5 at the moment, as BlackBerry Maps for OS 4.3 doesn’t seem to have an option to select the internal GPS. So will you be playing with your GPS a lot more now?
