Turn Your G1 Into The Android Dev Phone 1

News of the Android Dev Phone 1 hasn’t been around for too long, but the bootloader for the device is already out in the wild, so owners of T-Mobile’s G1 will be able to convert their phones to the Android Dev Phone 1. Apparently T-Mobile accidentally provided a G1 Developer version as a warranty replacement to a user who was savvy enough to extract the unlocked bootloader from the phone. You’ll need to have root access to your G1, but aside from that, the instructions are fairly simple. If you do decide to try this on your G1, do remember that it could brick your device (and void the warranty), so remember you’re playing with fire.
