Roaming With A T-Mobile G1 Is Expensive

Published

on

There isn’t an official report on this from T-Mobile just yet, but Gizmodo is reporting that a user who took his G1 overseas received a rather unpleasant data roaming bill of $102.85. Sure, it isn’t a bill that will bankrupt a person, but it’s unpleasant enough, especially since the user was diligent enough to turn off data roaming, data sync and 3G. Apparently when he was making his complaint, the supervisor revealed that the G1 always accesses the internet, whether you are sending text messages or making a call for a pizza, regardless of whether the data roaming features are off. Funnily enough, the advice was that “the phone should have been left in the USA to avoid these charges”. Have you taken your G1 overseas before?
