Nokia N97 Goes Official
We’ve all been patiently waiting to see what Nokia would come up with, and our patience has been rewarded. The release is certainly interesting, as Nokia has announced a new flagship phone, the N97, which is packed with features. The N97 has a 3.5-inch, 640 x 360 pixel resistive touchscreen display which supports tactile feedback, and a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out sideways from the phone. Dubbed the “world’s most advanced mobile computer†by Nokia, the phone also features an “always open†window to favorite internet or social networking sites. If the mentioned specifications weren’t enough, Nokia has also thrown in HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, 32GB on on-board memory, microSDHC card expansion up to 48GB, 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, video capture up to 30fps and a battery that can last up to a day and a half of continuous audio playback, or 4.5 hours of video playback. Nokia will be offering that load of features for the phone at €550 ($693), and should be shipping in the first half of 2009. With a phone like this, HTC’s Touch Pro will need to be careful, or it might just get knocked off its perch.
